However, the picnic tables will remain available for public use until the weather becomes unfavourable. The club expresses gratitude to beachgoers and dog owners for their cooperation in following the rules and maintaining the cleanliness of the beach and washrooms.
Maintenance of the beach during the summer was carried out by Lions Wayne Bent, Wayne “Smokey” Sherwood, Bruce Paterson, Dorothy Maynard, Dale Lyons, Julian Bahmann, and Harry Beckett. Volunteers Cait Maloney, Philip Hammond, Peggy and Bob Thompson, and Lion members Bob Reddick, Julian Bahmann, Bruce Paterson, Dorothy Maynard, along with Patricia McParland, Peter Minnelli, and Glenn Wilcox as spares, ensured that the washrooms were cleaned daily. Keeping the lawns tidy were Lions Jim McGlade, Smokey Sherwood, Harry Beckett, Bruce Wallace, and Bob Reddick. Lion Marty Hawkins and Chris Hartley were responsible for locking the washrooms every evening.
