Ask ten adults why they are proud to be Canadians and you’d likely get ten different answers. Maybe they would mention a special place of spectacular beauty, an historic moment or a sporting event that made them especially proud of our Country. Maybe it’s the special people we have that make us proud. The Westport Lions would like the children of Westport and area to show us why they are proud by entering our 3Rd annual Canada Day Drawing Contest.
Open to all children, aged 6 to 12 in Westport and area, entries will be judged on the basis of originality, artistic merit and creative use of Canadian symbols. Prizes will be awarded for the top two drawings in each age category. And prizes for the contest will be donated by Westport’s own Vanilla Bean: our generous sponsor for the last three years! Prizes will be presented to the winners at Lions Beach on Canada Day, July 1st.
Children can enter the contest at St Edward Catholic School, Rideau Vista Public School or by drawing on an 8 1/2’”X 11” sheet of paper and sending it to Westportontariolions@gmail.com or mailing it to Westport Lions Club, PO Box 428, Westport, Ontario, K0G 1X0. Please make sure you have included your name, age and telephone number. Contest entries must be received by the Westport Lions Club no later than Wednesday, June 25, 2025.
At our Canada Day drawing contest last year, we received over 80 entries. Let’s see if we can beat that number this year. Good Luck, Have Fun and Be Proud!
