Bruce Grant of Perth Road won the $500 Westport Lions calendar draw for November 22. He initially did not believe that he was $500 richer having been told in a hockey dressing room. Bruce generously decided to donate his winnings to Friends of the Arena (FOTA), a local charity that fundraises for the Westport arena. The cause is heartily endorsed by Bruce’s teammates on the age 55+ league.
To all the people who say, “I haven’t won anything in this year’s calendar draw.” We say, “The year’s not over yet!” Each Saturday in December, one calendar number will receive $100—perfect for holiday shopping.
Christmas cakes will be delivered the morning of Saturday, Dec. 6, to area seniors. If you are 70 years old and have not received a cake in the past, and want to receive a Christmas cake this year, please contact Lion Dorothy Maynard at 613-273-2079 or email the club at westportontariolions@gmail.com. The club will need to know your exact civic address. Please, only one cake per household.
