
Chantal Blair Inducted into Westport Lions.
Westport Lions Roar
Chantal Blair has been volunteering at the Lions Reuse and Recycle Centre and will be starting her third year. She was born in Thurso, Quebec, the town of Guy Lafleur. In her childhood, Guy Lafleur was one of her babysitters.
In 1965, she started kindergarten and her teacher inspired her to become a kindergarten teacher. In 1966, her family moved to Bryson, Quebec where her father worked at the Pulp Mill in Portage du fort Quebec.
In 1979, Chantal moved to Hull, Quebec to go to the CEGEP de l’ Outaouais. She worked at a shoe store during the two last year of her degree at the CEGEP. Chantal then pursued her education at university, earning a degree in teaching at the kindergarten and elementary levels. She worked at the university library while learning to become a teacher.
Chantal married and had two children with her first husband: a daughter, Julie, now 40 and a son, Philippe, now 38. She has five grandchildren: Nixon, 16; Nadelle, 10; Dominik, 8; Marcus, 7; Lucian, 5. Chantal enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and doing different projects with them.
Chantal is married to Dave Blair, a resident of Westport, a long time Lions member. She has moved 17 times either for school or during her adult life. Since marrying Dave, she has travelled to many places, with her favorite destination being Turks and Caicos.
