On Wednesday, March 27th five members of Elgin Lions Club attended our general meeting and presented the Westport Club with a cheque towards our Medical Mobility Service. The Elgin Club is a partner with the Westport Club and makes regular donations to help support this vital service.

Many clubs have shown an interest in how the Medical Mobile Service runs. Our club has been invited to Gananoque on April 4th for a Chinese buffet and to explain how our Medical Mobility Service operates.

One of benefits of either hosting or visiting other clubs is that you learn the successes of other clubs. Elgin’s quizmaster, Lion Ted Dwyre explained how their spaghetti and trivia night operates.   The next trivia night is on Friday, April 12 at the Elgin Lions hall. The spaghetti dinner starts at 5:00 p.m. and the trivia starts at 7:00 p.m. The cost to participate in the event is $10, which includes dinner. A maximum of eight players are allowed per team. Lion Ted suggested that each team should come up with a clever team name.

Lion David Blair reported that Byran Colford has everything in place for the mobility van breakfast to be held at The Cove on April 14th from 8:30 – 11:30. Come out and enjoy fresh maple syrup on French toast for a great cause!

It is not all work if you are a Lion member. This past Friday a group of Lions and their friends enjoyed an evening at the Elgin Bowling Lanes. Everyone had a great time even if our scores were less than spectancular!
