The Westport Lions appreciate the effort and generosity of Bryan and Tracy Colford for the medical mobility service breakfast each year.
Westport Lions Roar
By Lion Bob Reddick
The Westport Lion Club lost another good man last week. Lion Bill McCulloch passed away in his 86th year.
We started our April 10th meeting with a minute of silence in honour of Bill and reflected on many fond memories of Bill’s service to the community and the good times at Green Shingles Lodge. The Westport Lions would like to pass on our condolences to the family.
Lion Bill had a long history with the Westport Lions. Bill’s father, George, was a charter member of our club that was established in 1946. Bill was one of three lifetime members of our club and served Lionism for 59 years.
Bryan Colford and his family and friends, and the staff at The Cove put on another outstanding breakfast to raise a total of $7,625 for the Medical Mobility Service. We are thrilled to report an increase of $900 from 2018.
Approximately 500 people enjoyed french toast with fresh maple syrup, homemade meat patties, sausages and home fries. That is a tremendous number of people that came out to support the program from our relatively small community. The Westport Lions Club deeply appreciates the support and donations for this annual event.
