One of the services the Westport Lions Club provides to the community is the loaning of medical equipment. We currently have wheelchairs, raised toilet seats, canes, crutches, and walkers both with two wheels and four. Unfortunately, we do not have electric wheelchairs. Usually, an occupational physiotherapist will suggest the type of aid you should have depending on your particular need.
The best way for you to obtain a piece of equipment is to call Lion Don Baker at 613- 453-4940. He will arrange a pick up of the medical equipment and help you with any adjustments that you may require.
Don is often asked, “What do I owe you?” There is no charge for this service. However, we always appreciate a donation to the club. Donations to the Westport Lions Club can be made by cheque or e-transfer. Cheques can be mailed to Westport Lions Club, PO Box 428, Westport, ON K0G 1X0. E-transfers can be sent toour treasurer, Lion Gary Warriner at warriner@kingston.net. Please explain what the money is for and tell Lion Gary what the password is for the transaction.
Please let us know if you would like your donation to go to a specific Lions’ service. We are always happy to issue a tax-deductible receipt upon request.
On a positive note, although COVID has restricted our activities, the community has been most supportive of our fundraisers. We sold a record number of tickets for the spring draw. We sold out of $10,000 draw tickets. The cash calendars sold out quickly, and now we only have 14 tickets left on our 58-inch TV draw at this writing. So, if you want a ticket for this draw you should call Janet Mulville or Marty Hawkins at 613-273-2373 immediately. It is very gratifying to know that the community is behind us and supports us in our mission.
