Westport Lions Roar

As the first year of our Westport Lions Re-Use and Recycle Centre is coming to an end, we would like to thank G. Tackaberry & Sons for making our operation possible through the donated use of the building.

We have received approximately 1,500 items donated by members of our community and surrounding areas, resulting in approximately 1,000 items sold to date.  All of our net proceeds will remain in our community through the Lions Club initiatives and public service activities.

The metal, aluminum and e-waste recycling programs have been well received, and have generated additional revenue for the Centre while providing a convenient local drop off point for our residents.

Initiating a start-up operation during COVID-19 has had many challenges, however with the support of our community through on-line sales, and the dedication of our core group of 15 volunteers, we have been able to have a very successful first year of operation.

As we close our season, we will be offering additional discounts on our furniture and merchandise.

After our last day of operation on October 2nd, we will be periodically featuring items for on-line sale and pick-up by appointment.  It is our plan to do a phased re-opening early spring with on-line sales and moving to regular store hours.

Again, we wish to thank all those who have donated and purchased items enabling the Westport Lions Re-Use and Recycle Centre to have a successful first year.
