Congratulations to Barb Fritz, Lisa Colford, and her mother Katie Egolf for winning the Westport Lions Club $10,000 Elimination Draw.
Every participant had the option of splitting the $10,000 prize if they were one of the last two tickets pulled. Out of 250 tickets sold, about a dozen people stated that they did not want to split. Both Barb and Lisa (who shared her ticket with her mother) declared on their ticket that they would split the $10,000 grand prize.
The event began with free roast beef on a bun with coleslaw and a drink for all who attended. Tom Watson sang and played guitar and mandolin while we ate and between batches of numbers drawn.
All the following people won $100. The first ticket drawn was held by Doreen Crocket. The 100th ticket pulled was Olivia, Freddie and Grandpa Wayne Bent. Number 199 belonging to Roger Merkley as the 200th ticket drawn. Natalie Lowery’s name was on the fifth last ticket drawn, the fourth last ticket belonged to Allan Coon, and the third last ticket was Gail Swinwood. The second last ticket pulled belonged to Lisa Colford from Westport and her mother Katie Egolf. The owner of the final ticket drawn for the day was Barb Fritz.
“I want to thank the community for their support and the Lions that helped,” said Chairperson Dorothy Maynard.
