A record attendance season at the Westport Lions beach is winding down.

The swimming buoys have been taken in, but the washrooms will remain open only Saturday and Sunday until further notice.

The club thanks the eighteen Lions and volunteers that maintained the property and facilities this summer.  Also, the Lions wish to thank the beach patrons for removing their garbage and their help in keeping the washrooms clean.

The club still has $10,000 draw tickets available for $100 per ticket.  This is an elimination draw with the possibility of the last two tickets splitting the grand prize.  The draw will take place at the Lions’ Beach on Saturday, September 24, starting at 2:00 p.m.  If you wish to purchase a ticket, please contact any Lion, or phone Lion Dorothy Maynard at 613-273-2079.

The Westport Lions Reuse & Recycle Centre is holding an end-of-season sale for the next three weeks.  There is 50% off for upholstered couches and chairs, and other select items until October 1.  Don’t miss your chance to save money and support the Lions’ local service initiatives.

The R. & R. store and recycling centre is open every Friday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. until October 1. The sales centre is located at 5295 Salem Road.
