President Rick Warriner started the last meeting by expressing his appreciation for the hard work and contributions members have made for the club. Treasurer Bob Weir reported all Lion’s Club accounts are in the black. The Club has been appreciative of important help by members as they finalized plans for a blood donor clinic. This will be held on Tuesday April 23 at the Westport Legion 542 from 3-6 p.m. Call 1-888-236-6283. Also the project Pennies for Puppies has been well received and Lion Bill Dickson of the Perth Lions Club is pleased with the response of Westport and area residents as they have turned in pennies collected for this. Dicksons own daughter benefits from one of these highly trained special needs dogs. The cost of the training at these Lions Guard Dog schools in Oakville is supported entirely by donations. The Annual French Toast breakfast held at the Cove on Sunday April 7th featuring fresh maple syrup from the Colford/Adrain sugar shack was as usual a great success and the Lions Mobility Van benefited by the almost $4000 raised. The Lions Club Annual Spring Cash Draw will be on Saturday May 25th.
Hi there,
One of our staff members father in law passed away and donations were directed towards the Westport Lions Mobility Van. This is in honor of Norman Edgar Reside and his family member that works for us is Brian Service, his partner Judi, who is Norman’s daughter. We would like to donate $50 towards the mobility van. Please advise how we can make this happen.
Thank you,
Hi Sandy,
You can send your cheque to:
Westport Lions Club
63 Mountain Road
Westport, ON K0G 1X0
Please include a brief note expressing your wish that the donation be made to Lions Mobility Bus in memory of Norm Reside.
Thank you,
Lion Bob Reddick
