Congratulations to Carter Jane Laming from Timmins, Ontario, for winning $500 in the Thanksgiving Day Cash Calendar draw. Carter is the daughter of Jaclyn Bernardi and Clifford Laming and the granddaughter of Linda and Ed Laming of Delta. Grandfather Ed bought all his grandchildren a calendar as a Christmas present. What a great idea. When Carter’s parents asked her what she wanted with her winnings, she replied, “cheese and some toys.”
The Westport Lions $10,000 2021 Cash Calendars are now on sale. We have reduced the number of calendars for 2021 to 1,000 from last year’s total of 1,250. You should buy your calendars early so you will not be disappointed. The 2021 calendars will certainly be sold out.
You can purchase the calendars from any Lion member or by calling calendar chairperson, Cheryl Couper Scala at 613-273-9253. Also, you can buy a calendar at the following local businesses: Country Kitchen Restaurant, Westport Village Pharmacy and Westport Home Hardware.
Online ticket sales worked so well on recent draws that you now have another option to purchase your calendar. You can send an e-transfer for $20 for one calendar, or $100 for six to westportontariolions@gmail.com or breddick@rideau.net. A Lion member will fill out your address, phone number and then email you a picture of your calendar stub(s). The club will then arrange for you to pick-up your calendar, or we will deliver it, or as a last resort mail your calendar to you.
Despite increased production costs, the price of the calendars remains the same because of the tremendous support of 48 local businesses. We encourage you to shop locally, review their ads and make note of the telephone directory at the back of each calendar.
Below are the operating conditions of the draw as listed on the back pages of the calendars.
1) Six daily winning numbers will be drawn from a rotating drum containing numbers 000-999.
2) Winning numbers will be eligible for subsequent draws.
3) Prizes will be awarded for every day except Sunday.
4) Daily prizes $20 Monday to Friday, $40 Saturday except for New Years Day $1000, Canada Day $500, Lions Santa Claus Parade Day $500 and each Saturday in December $100.
5) Prize amounts will be determined by those printed on the calendar.
6) Only 1000 calendars are printed, 000-999. The draw will be based on the actual number sold.
7) All prizes paid by e-transfer if requested, or cheques will be forwarded by mail.
8) Winners will be announced weekly on the Westport Lions Web site, http://www.westportlions.ca, Westport Lions Facebook page and The Review-Mirror.
9) This charity fundraiser is authorized under Lottery License # M801062.
